Here’s a pleasant surprise. Newly mastered Ishq single/ep called Rainshine In Summerland. Seems it was written around the same time as the Fluid Earth release, which was the second disc on the 2-disc Orchid release. This was actually leaked onto peer-to-peer file sharing sites a long time ago, and, if I remember correctly, it was actually a lot longer, made up of 4+ tracks. But recently Matt Hillier has mastered and released it as a bandcamp download. Here’s what he writes:
Recorded in 2000 by Ishq around the time of Fluid earth sessions and one of the earliest recordings made by Ishq. A little rough around the edges by todays recording standards the music however conveys a spirit and sense of time and place and remains an utterly unique piece of musical history where Ishq are concerned. The 24 minute track / ep was only ever available as a low grade unmastered mp3 which found its way online many years ago but we have now finally mastered it and laid it to rest as a piece of music. Its one of our favourite tracks as its the odd one out and was recorded at a very magic time for us. Dedicated to the spirit of St just and all the strange folk down that way.
Pretty cool. What do you think?
